“Foras Jordan Investment” & “Our Goods” announced at 14th Arab Business Owners and Investors Conference 2011
H.E Sheikh Saleh Kamel, President of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) announced the establishment of Foras Jordan Investment Company with KD10 million contributed by 50 % Sheikh Saleh Kamel and Jordan Islamic Bank (JIB) on one hand and 50% by Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) and Jordanian companies on the other hand.
Kamel made the announcement at the14th Arab Business Owners and Investors Conference 2011 that was held in Jordan.
Foras Jordan Investment Co. aims at discovering the investment opportunities in the promising sectors in Jordan, preparing feasibility studies, attracting Arab and international investments and establishing companies to finance viable projects for the benefit of the national economy.
He also disclosed the project of “Our Goods" (Bada’ina) Company to be established. It will be an Arab company comprises of series of shopping malls for selling only the Arab products and it will be built through the partnership of the private sector in 8 Arab countries including: Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Tunisia, and Morocco.
“Our Goods" is aimed at publicizing of products and commodities made by the partners of the company so as to contribute to the promotion of the Arab goods, leading to stimulation and development of inter-Arab trade in practical and realistic way. The Company would open many shopping malls in several countries for marketing of the Arab industries.
The Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) is an affiliated organ to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and the only representative of the private sector in the Islamic World. It held 11 meetings since 1994 in 11 Islamic States for the sake of enhancing trade exchange volume, fostering the volume of joint investment projects amongst the States of the OIC, strengthening closer collaboration between public and private sectors in the Islamic countries, developing necessary mechanisms for more cooperation through networking, organizing and establishing projects amongst the OIC States.
